Believe

How would your life be different if you really believed God’s infinite power in your life?  Would you live like a superhero?  I think I would soar through my days never looking back.  Fear, disbelief, insecurities would not exist!  Approaching problems would be exciting and thrilling because the end result would always be success.

Wow!  Why can’t life really be like that?  Wait a minute.  It can be if we choose to really believe who Christ says He is.  According to Ephesians 3:20,  “He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine”.

So then why don’t we live every day like a super hero?  One thing I’m certain of is that in this lifetime we will never comprehend exactly who God is and the order of how and why things happen.  In the book of Job, God points out that if we cannot fully grasp common events such as nature, then how can we truly understand God’s moral purposes for our lives?  We end up wasting so much time trying to figure out who God is that we put very little time in just simply believing.  Today let’s shift our mindset to believing God’s ultimate power over us.

  • What can you trust God with today?
  • How will your life be different by doing this?
  • Are you ready to experience God’s unlimited power?

I would love to hear from you!  Please leave a comment below.

  1. I loved this Linda! Especially the part about just simply believing-something I have felt convicted of lately. ‘oh ye of little faith’. Thank you for sharing!

    • Thanks Jennifer! Somehow when God is trying to get a point across to us He continues to bring things over & over again to us. I’m glad my post was a gentle reminder for you today. 🙂

  2. Linda,

Such a great reminder of what just believing and trusting in God can really do in our lives. I pray that I can do just that so that all the fears, insecurities, and doubt will start to fade away!

    Love and blessings!

    • Kristen, Thank you for commenting. I’m learning that when I start every day in surrender to God everything else falls in place. One day at a time 🙂

  3. Hi Linda! First, I just want to tell you how much I loved your testimony of God’s healing power the other day! Wow! What a faith builder! I am sorry you had to go such hardship. Thank you for sharing your powerful testimony with us. Talk about experiencing God’s unlimited power! I wonder why we don’t experience more of His power in our lives? It is because we don’t know it is available, because we don’t believe it, or because we are scared of it? Maybe a combination of all three? I know I do experience His power of His Holy Spirit when I keep my cool instead of losing it with my kids or when I am patient with the grocery store cashier or forgiving someone who hurt me deeply. But, I do want more. I want to experience more of Him. I pray for the Lord to open my eyes so I can see more of His power at work. Thank you for this post and the thought provoking questions! With love, Sue (OBS Leader)

    • Hi Sue, I’m so thankful my story could be such an inspiration of God for you! My dream is to share God’s divine healing in my life with others so that everyone will see how powerful prayer really is. Thank you for checking out my blog.

  4. So thought provoking Linda. You are right, we waste too much precious time trying to figure out a God who is infinitely above us instead of just trusting Him and taking Him at His Word.

  5. It all comes down to trust for me. I am trying so hard to trust that God has a plan and we just have to wait for it. Not try to manipulate things. That does not mean we don’t work toward goals, but it means we partner not fight with God about our direction. Thanks for the reminder!

    • Hi Mary! It’s the same thing for me….Trust. Glad it could be a reminder for you today 🙂

  6. Linda,

If I can truly believe and grasp what Jesus left for my in His Holy Spirit, I can be a superhero! But what type of superhero would I be? Hallelujah Healer, Prolific Prayer, Gospel Guru, or a combination of all three.

Is it fear that God won’t pull thru because of past disappointments?
Maybe it’s a fear of not being accepted by people around me?

Lord, place blinders on me that all I see is You, all I care about is pleasing You, and all I fear of disappointing is You.

Thanks for the thought provoking blog.

    Blessings,
    Catherine
