Transformed

What can you do to really start trusting God with every area of your life?

When I was asked that question I honestly had no answer.  I was stuck.  My first thought was, I’m “doing” all the Christian things, like having quiet time in the mornings, going to church, volunteering on prayer team, praying with and for my coaching clients.  Shouldn’t that be enough to trusting God with my life?

Nope!

To be completely honest with you, I only trust God with parts of my life, not with my entire life….ugh!  After being convicted about this and wondering what in the world can I do differently to hand my life completely over to God with 100% trust, the perfect scripture was revealed to me immediately.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Romans 12:2

That was it!  That’s the answer!  Change the way we think.  Stop looking at life from the world’s perspective; instead be transformed by God’s perspective.  So you might ask, how can I start looking at life through the lens of Christ?  I have one simple answer, eat, drink, and sleep the living word of God.  Every time we catch a fleeting thought that is not in alignment with the truth, seek God’s word.  The bible is holy, sacred, powerful, life changing.  The bible can provide the answers to life’s most difficult questions.

However, it takes effort on our part to stop allowing our minds to wander and believe every thought that pops in.  I recently started taking screen shot pictures on my iPhone of bible verses and every time I catch myself thinking a negative thought, I just tap on my photos and I have scriptures available.  It is crucial that we make scripture a necessity for every part of our life.

What can you do today to start trusting God with every area of your life?  I would love to hear from you.  Please click the link below to leave a comment.

  1. Love your post Linda and what a great idea to take screen shot pictures on your iPhone of bible verses and every time you catch yourself thinking a negative thought, you can tap on your photos and have scriptures available. Thanks for sharing!! God Bless you!!! ♥

  2. Linda,

This is such a great post! I recently had a ouch moment as well, I realized that I was believing the lies of the enemy more than the God’s truth only over myself. I love the screenshot idea! Everytime I hear the lies, I just need to replace it with His truth! God bless you sweet sister, His light shines through you!

  3. Oh I love the snapshot idea! I will have to try that!! In fact snapping our verse for this with week from my verse mapping card!! Yeah!!

  4. Thanks for your great post, Linda!

I love your idea of taking screenshots with your iPhone!

I recently started keeping a ‘Love Notes from God’ jar, which is filled with verses written on note cards. When I’m stressed or having a bad day or I find myself not seeking God first, I pull out a verse and that’s my ‘love note’ from God. On the flip side, when I’m studying God’s Word, and I come across a verse that really speaks to me, I write it down and throw it in the jar and send praises up to God. It might seem a little childish, but it’s working for me!

    Blessings & Love!

  5. Linda, my word for this year is “NEW.” I’m focusing on renewing my mind, clinging to Jesus in everything I do, following His lead. I love the idea of taking pictures of scripture with your phone. What a great tool to renew our minds!
Love and Prayers! Appreciate your leadership!

  6. Loved your post. God’s Word has definitely been the catalyst in transforming my life. I look to His Word daily for help, hope, and a better understanding of where God desires me to be at work for Him.

  7. Thank you for sharing. I do believe in what you said….although……some of us have done this as well. Memorized scripture, pray, seek Him, I’ve even graduated from Bible College!!! I still struggle. I’m recently at the point of giving up. It has taken a lot of terrible things to happen to me that has gotten me to this point. I’m tired…..simply tired…..of doing all “the right” things yet continually getting slammed doors. A woman can handle only so much then she begins to give up.

  8. I, too, do not trust God with ALL aspects of my life and I love that idea of taking pics of scriptures and storing them in our phones. I’m going to steal that from you. Lol

  9. I love this. God is working on me in this area and I praise Him for OBS and all the beautiful women He has placed in my life through it. Learning to trust Him in all areas of my life………Thank you Jesus!

  10. I love the thought of having scripture verses on your phone so you can refer to them quickly when needed. I, too, believe the only way to completely surrender all to God is to soak in the SON by reading HIS word daily. There are so many distractions in this world, often orchestrated by the evil one, there is however, one source of absolute truth and that is the Bible. No need to go searching all over…everything you could possibly go through is covered in the Bible!

  11. Linda, thank you for always being so transparent with your challenges! I appreciate your insight on this, and love your suggestion to keep verses on your iPhone!

  12. I could not agree more about reading Scriptures. I do verse mapping and then journal the Scriptures, I do this as I’m writing out my thoughts I’m getting reflections listining to what God wants me to hear from His message. It is also to remind me how much I need Him in ALL areas in my life good and bad times.
