  1. What a wonderful ornament and wonderful thought! So hard at times to think of myself as exceptional, but, then, if I stop and remember that I am God’s child and He made me, I must be exceptional. Now, if I can just remember to live the life He has given me, to show His love and glory. Have a blessed day! 🙂

  2. Wow! that quote has really challenged me today. My own self talk is mostly centered on how I am not good enough (as a wife, as a Mum even as a pet parent) so for me to even entertain the thought that I am exceptional really is a challenge. I believe that I am wonderfully made (Psalm 139) by God, but I often let the enemy undermine my faith 🙁

  3. W@W! I thought no way when I heard that video. For a split-second I said no way I’m not exceptional. Then my crazy self yelled. We are all exceptional in some way, we just do not take the time to look, to realize, to accept. I am not comfortable about certain things about me, myself and I, but I am with others. Take the time to get to know, YOU again and you will see you are exceptional!

  4. Never ever could think of me being exceptional. Would love to, but not comfortable with even considering it at this point. I did have a flash thought, that the word “was” should be “is”, but that’s just my picky self. Your daughter is very lucky and her mentor is extremely special for creating such an inspirational life time gift for her.

    • Praying Kathy that you will consider it one day. I believe YOU ARE EXCEPTIONAL!!!! Why? Because you are honest to share exactly how you are feeling today and to have courage to share that here! Wow!!!! YOU MY FRIEND ARE EXCEPTIONAL!!! ((hugs)))

  5. I certainly can say I am a good, trusting, loving and helpful person, but to say exceptional is difficult to comprehend. But God has created us in His likeness, so wouldn’t that make us exceptional? It’s going to take a bit of work to undo all the negativity that is in my head in order to say I am exceptional. I will definitely put this in my journal, perhaps a new section to create about why I should be comfortable with being exceptional. This is a tough one, Linda. Thanks and Blessings.

    • Sheila I applaud you for taking the next step and journaling to explore where you are in believing YOU ARE EXCEPTIONAL!! I love it. Great exceptional work my friend!

  6. Here I am again sitting here pondering about the thought you gave us. I have never considered myself exceptional. I’m usually dwelling on all the past mistakes I’ve made and can’t change. But if we know God and we know we’re His child and how much He does love us we can’t be anything but exceptional. I had a big sister once that tried to get me to believe in myself so she got me an ornament at Christmas that said I believe. Since then I’ve got several things with the words I Believe on them. Thanks for reminding me at this time of the year especially that if I Believe in God, He Believes in me. God loves me and if I want to carry His love to others I have to learn to love and forgive myself. Sharon

    • Thank you Sharon for being so real here. When I don’t want to forgive myself at times I challenge myself to look at the cross. Jesus forgave me so it pushes me toward forgiveness. ((hugs & love))

  7. Linda, I love that quote! The Lord has blessed me with many unique talents and gifts and placed me where I have the opportunity to use them each and every day! All I have to do is wake up and get going! Thanking Him for all the divine appointments that await me and asking that He fill my heart with His Holy Spirit and open my eyes wide so I don’t miss any of them. Then remembering to thank Him throughout the day…praise and thanks giving in all circumstances! It isn’t always easy to be obedient but with God all things are possible! So, if I fail or fall, I look up to Him, ask for forgiveness, ask Him to help me get up and keep going…this may happen more times in a day than I would like, but…I am exceptional! I love my Lord Jesus and I love who He made me to be! May He continue to bless me with the ability to share His love with every one that He places in my life! God bless!

  8. Hi … Your daughters ornament is beautiful. It made me question some of the things that I have been thinking lately . I have always been a stay at home mom… But our children are all grown now and have family’s of their own. I’ve found out that I can make greeting cards on a program on our computer and I love making crafts for my pre school job. I have written songs that I have been able to share at church and I am learning how to sign worship songs. I have also had the opportunity to speak several times at a women’s retreat in our area and found out that I really enjoyed it and seem to have a knack for sharing stories with a lot of heart and humor. What jumped out at me reading your post was “being comfortable being exceptional”. Even reading all the things I just shared makes me feel uncomfortable ! (: I know that we are exceptional because God created us and loves us and made the ultimate sacrifice for us… But I still have a hard time sometimes believing that I am loved, and cherished and “exceptional”. I do want to be comfortable with who God created me to be and with the talents and gifts he’s given. Blessings(:

    • Sherri thank you for sharing your heart here and being real. I love it! I believe we all struggle with really accepting that we are loved, cherished and exceptional. Little by little, day by day we move towards truly receiving God’s truth. Much love & ((hugs))~
