A Summer of Intention

meg&grammy.jpg

What are your plans for the summer?

Will you be traveling, hanging out at the pool, relaxing or playing games with the family?

I’m hoping to do all of these!

However, many times my summer ends up being a little too thoughtless and then I look back with a touch of regret.

Because my daughter is turning 14 this year, I want to make the most out of the time I have with her.

Thinking back to when I was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago, I spent practically the whole summer curled up in bed sick and crying buckets of tears because I could not share the joy and excitement of a blistering hot summer day with my daughter.

So this summer in honor of another day of life, health and God’s grace, I plan to live each day with intention. I will approach each 24-hours as if it were my last and savor every hot sticky sweaty humid beautiful day with my family.

Life is short. Choose to make it count!

So what are you plans for the summer? Will you join me in living each day with intention? Leave me a comment below.

  1. Oh, Linda, what a beautiful photo memory! I need to look for a few like that for my daughters. We all miss Mom-Mom. I will join you this summer living intentionally. It’s funny you mention this, because recently a few friends and I decided if anyone complains about hot weather this year, we need to remind them of the terrible winter we just experienced! Thanks for your great idea! xo

    • Oh yea Carol Anne! I’m so glad you will join me with a summer of intention! There’s nothing like look at old photos and walking through memory lane 🙂

  2. Living with chronic illness I have many days just pushing through to do regular house chores. I love the mornings with my coffee, Bible, journal and God on the enclosed porch. One evening I co lead GriefShare and another evening co lead a small group. Time with our three dogs and praise God my hubby who is staying healthy.

  3. I really hope my sweet Grandaughter will come and spend a week with her Nana this summer before she’s grown up and driving doing teenage things

  4. I look to each day just being able to move around another day thanks to my wonderful Lord.I am disabled and limited on so much ,but I spent my mornings with the Lord and then throughout the day.I try to do His will daily,I am not perfect by long ways but I do fight to be the best I can with Him holding me.Thank you so very much for your posts,God Bless!

  5. I will be spending the summer with my grandchildren and my daughters! Praying that everyone has a blessed summer and safe where ever you all go!

  6. Oh what a special picture of Judy and Megan! Thanks for sharing your memory of that day as well as reminding me to live in the moment and cherish each day. Love your inspirational and uplifting posts.

  7. Your tender photo of Grandmother and grandchild reminded me of how important it is to make the most of every moment and the joy of family. Storing up memories of special times is so precious. Being with children and now grandchildren ( no matter how tiring) can never be replaced. Today has created such a storehouse of memories .. a 6 yr old grandchild’s Birthday celebration, a pool party, cousins joining in, fun and laughter. We turn our thanks to God for the great gift of family and our place in it as grandparents. I pray this summer will indeed be one of intention, with days of joy, adventure ahead.

  8. My husband and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Charleston, SC. We attended the wedding of our daughter-in-law’s sister. Beautiful!! We were so happy to be able to share time with our son and daughter-in-law and other family and friends. That’s what I hope to do this summer, share more experiences with family and friends and let them all know how much I love them and how truly special they are in my life.
