How Your Core Values Keep You Accountable {and a giveaway!}

It’s so exciting to see how great everyone is doing on accountability this month. I love hearing from you. Thank you for all your emails. Your motivation keeps me motivated!

On a recent blog post I wrote, “Accountability oozes from our core values”. For example one of my core values is honesty. Because honesty is a core value of mine, when I tell someone I will do something, that means I will do it. That is why accountability works when it’s connected to my core values.

There are hundreds of core values. I would love to hear what your core values are in the comments below. Everyone who comments will be entered to WIN a special devotional book from Lysa TerKeurst, What Happens When Women Say Yes to God. Winner announced Feb. 28.

Here’s a list of core values to select from (but not limited to): Love, Obedience, Patience, Quality, Security, Inspiring Others, Family, Accomplishment, Trust, Recognition, Peace, Mentoring, Wellness, Loyalty, Service, Honesty, Humor, Integrity, Faith, Fun, Respect, Persistence, Community, Creativity, Encouragement, Order, Nurturing, Excellence, Courage, Honor, Joy, Authenticity, Elegance.

Journal with God: Write in your journal all of your core values. Reflect on the many ways God has used these values throughout your life as a gift to you and to serve others.

  1. Once again, your blog thoughts really make me think and be accountable for my thoughts. Some of my core values are Faith, Appreciating other people, Love, Honesty, Compassion, Understanding, Security and Mental and Physical wellbeing. Those are just a few. 🙂

  2. My core values are so many, but the one that really comes across is encouragement. I love to be able to encourage people when they are going through rough times. I also pray for them. With these are also my spiritual gifts of serving and mercy which can also be in the core values as well. Thanks for posting this. Blessings and Keep Smiling.

  3. That’s a good list of core values. My core values are Faith, God, Family, and serving others. Serving others brings me the greatest joy and the most satisfaction. Appreciate you so much and the wisdom you share with others. Thanks. Sharon

  4. Some of my core values: Faith, Persistence, Courage, Honesty, Security, Inspiring Others, Family, Accomplishment, Trust, Recognition, Peace, Encouragement.

  5. I think the top two core values on my list would be my faith and my family. The past 20 years I have put nothing before that. I do then have some others that follow close behind… Such as inspiring others, I love that! Encouragement, nurturing, humor and joy are obvious in me– especially helping others find “joy” during their dark days. I guess it’s obvious… I am meant to be a life coach.
    I want to either work in a ministry or help others. It’s all about coping skills. It’s
    About helping others see that. Everyone on this earth will have issues and problems… It’s how we cope with them and KNOW that we are not alone… And we will get through them that makes the difference! It was not a coincidence that I came across you Linda. Thanks for your website!
