How To Overcome Criticism

Everybody struggles with defeating thoughts; we are not alone in this. The enemy will attack our worth via criticism. We have to stop letting negativity lead us. Instead, take it captive and lead it with the truth.

SpeakHisTruth

Whenever the lies bombard me, I can speak these five truths out loud instead.

1) God will never condemn me. He does not disapprove of me. He does not criticize or blame me. He does not find fault in me (Rom. 8:1–2).

2) God has not given me a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Tim. 1:7).

3) I am strong, and the word of God lives in me, and I have overcome the evil one (1 John 2:14).

4) I am in perfect peace because I trust in God as my thoughts stay fixed on him (Isa. 26:3).

5) I have been given authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will harm me (Luke 10:19).

  1. This is something the Lord spoke to my heart when I was going through a storm and negativity …. Replace those hurtful negative dark thoughts with positive light spoken truth of His word and believe I am enough praise His name … Thank you linda for sharing your heart and being real with your struggles it makes it easier to admit ours ! Excited for you and your book that God is using and will use to touch hearts so many struggle with being worthy and being enough

    • Kelly I appreciate your encouragement and letting me know that sharing my struggles is a help to others. Often we think so many people have it “all together” when we see the snap shot of their lives but in reality we are all in this together simple trying to make the best out of life and that requires pushing through our struggles.

Thank you for being here & sharing. xo

  2. Hi Linda, I have not purchased your book yet but am anxious to as I do not feel very worthy as a woman. Unfortunately I am realizing I attached my self worth to my job and I have been retired for three years now from ministry. It has become difficult to overcome the negative thoughts. But realizing I am not alone sure helps.
I have a Mom , who I am caregiver to and two sweet 10 month old golden retrievers. My hubby has noticed how much gratification these sweet golden’s give me and I am starting to overcome those negative thoughts. When you look into their sweet faces and see they just want to be petted it thrills my heart.
Blessings in your ministry Linda and may God continue to give His healing ways.
I will order your book today. Are you going to do a bible study from it on line maybe?

    • Sweet Nancy I am here today to tell you … YOU ARE WORTHY! I’m excited for you to read Worthy of a Miracle because part 2 of the book is short but with life application that will deepen your awareness to how worthy you already are. Thank you for sharing your heart hear with me.

I’ve had many coaching clients that were in the same situation as you after many years of pouring into work/family. I believe in you and know this is the beginning of a breakthrough for you! xoxo

  3. So encouraged by your video of five truths. Thanks.I want to share the truth shown to me recently. While going through a time of big change..I felt undermined by thinking I was so ordinary and insignificant…Then I saw this truth as I read His Word …
“He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession”
    James 1 v18 NLT
I am his prized possession! So are you!

  4. Loved your book Linda and so excited about how the Lord is working through you to speak truth to His people. You have been through some tough times but have proven that when you are weak He is strong. Through the power of His spirit He has brought you through some tough times for His glory and to use you in such a powerful way!

    • Thank you Merril! This book would not be what it is without ALL the truth and prayers you’ve spoke into my life over the past 2 years. Love you dearly. xo

I struggle with negativity and anxiety daily. Thank you for sharing this encouraging word. I don’t know my identity in Christ and my perceptions are off!
