3 Questions to Ask at Your Christmas Dinner

As 2016 is winding down I encourage you to take a little time and reflect. While I know this year has not been “perfect” and there are some things you might want to permanently erase from your mind, I do believe without question that we can find much to be grateful for and celebrate. Here are 3 questions I’m pondering myself and asking my family as 2016 fades into 2017.

2017

For me this year has been a time of rest, renewal, healing and growth. I can honestly say 2016 has been one of my favorite years yet. Not because everything worked out the way I wanted it to, but mainly because I simply gave up striving and just let myself be. I found this year I took time to live with intention and enjoy the sweet simple moments with my loved ones. It was time well spent and I will carry that into next year.

I would love to hear from you in the comments below about what you learned from 2016.

The Secret to Miracles

Last week I wrote about living this summer with intention, and so far so good.

I love living with intention!! It’s making a big difference. I hope it is for you too.

I’ve already had some time in the sun with my daughter laughing and playing in the pool and we actually pulled out an old game a few nights ago after dinner. It was amazing to see the difference in our mood that evening. We all seemed a little lighter.

We have been laughing a lot more lately too!

I would like to give all the credit to “being intentional” however that’s not where the credit is due.

A few weeks ago, I started praying for my family. Not some long eloquent profound prayers, just sincere prayers from my heart.

And guess what?

The more I pray, the more I see God answering.

We’ve all heard it time and time again that there is power in prayer, but do we really live our daily lives believing the REAL POWER in prayer?

I really believe with every ounce of me that prayer is the fertile soil where miracles bloom.

This week I want to challenge you to step up your prayer life. What is your heart longing for? What needs to change in your life or in a loved ones life that only God can do?

Seek the Lord with all your heart and expect to see miracles today. That’s why Jesus came, so that we may have life and enjoy it to the fullest.

“If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you!” Luke 17:6 NIV

Pray in faith today sweet Sisters. He is waiting for you.

I love hearing from you. Leave a comment below.

A Summer of Intention

What are your plans for the summer?

Will you be traveling, hanging out at the pool, relaxing or playing games with the family?

I’m hoping to do all of these!

However, many times my summer ends up being a little too thoughtless and then I look back with a touch of regret.

Because my daughter is turning 14 this year, I want to make the most out of the time I have with her.

Thinking back to when I was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago, I spent practically the whole summer curled up in bed sick and crying buckets of tears because I could not share the joy and excitement of a blistering hot summer day with my daughter.

So this summer in honor of another day of life, health and God’s grace, I plan to live each day with intention. I will approach each 24-hours as if it were my last and savor every hot sticky sweaty humid beautiful day with my family.

Life is short. Choose to make it count!

So what are you plans for the summer? Will you join me in living each day with intention? Leave me a comment below.
