1 Simple Way to Follow Through

How do we follow through on our goals?

I learned from my Pastor this weekend an invaluable nugget of wisdom that can potentially change everything for you.

We know how to set goals and routines and patterns to achieve them. So why is it so hard to actually follow through with our goals?

The problem is not the goal or the routine itself,

For example, my goal is to eat healthy, however when I get emotional I respond by eating junk food {cupcakes} which is completely opposite of my goal. In order to achieve my goal, I must change the pattern of my response. Make sense?

What responses do you need to change in your life in order to achieve your goals? I would love to hear from. Leave a comment below.

  1. Great point about our response. I’m sure all of us have what I would call a default mode that gets in the way and we resort to it – therefore abandoning our goals. Definitely something to think about!

  2. Linda, I am also a poor responder to weak moments and it is in my weaknesses that I should immediately turn to Jesus, He is my Strength! He is Enough! Enough Love and Grace and Comfort! Praying that this response be my focus…one weak moment at a time! God bless!

  3. I definitely need to change my response to my emotional eating habits. I want to lose weight, I know I need to lose weight for my health and well being. Yet, here I go again with the emotional eating habits. Happy, sad, anxious, scared.. all triggers for those bad eating patterns. So my answer is that I need to “pause and listen” to God when I feel the urge to eat the wrong foods and/or eat too much.
Thank you, Linda. You continue to inspire me. Love the lighting in today’s video. You are beautiful, inside and outside. 🙂 Hugs!
