Miracles Happen In This Secret Place

Where is your secret place that you meet with God? Where do you feel most connected to God? This place where I meet with God is my little sanctuary.

A little over 5 years ago I remember being right here on this trail. I was undergoing chemotherapy and I had no idea how sick I was going to end up … in a coma on life support. I remember thinking as I walked the trail that the one thing I had for certain was God and His promises to me.

No matter what, God is faithful to the very end.

Let me know where is your sanctuary? Ann how has God been faithful in your life? Everyone who comments will be entered to win a copy of Your Life Still Counts by Tracie Miles. Winner announced Thursday.

  1. My secret place is not a secret. It’s my back yard. … God has been faithful to me through all of my husband’s cancer treatments – chemo, surgery, and now we face another three months of chemo starting this Friday. Please pray for Randy and for our family.

      • Gracious Heavenly Father I’m asking for complete healing in the name of Jesus for Randy as he goes through another round of chemo. Lord give his spirit peace and strength to finish strong. Lord I pray for Susan as she cares for her husband and for her heart to not grow faint or weary. Sweet Jesus I ask for this family to receive the peace and grace that surpasses all our understanding. Thank you Lord.

  2. I don’t have a personal sanctuary. God has been very faithful to me even when I haven’t deserved it. Almost 13 years ago I too was in a coma on life support. For all my faithfulness God could have said she’s not worth it and taken me but He didn’t. He loves me so much. It’s an undeserving love but a very grateful love.

    • Amen Sharon! You are a miracle!!! Treasured and adored by God. I’m so happy you are here with us today to share about His transformation in your life. Thank you.

  3. When I am out driving in my car is my secret place with God. I feel really close to him when I am outside. I need the sunshine too:). There is a street in my area that is really pretty with leaves and flowers and my husband knows if I need some time alone to connect with The Lord, I will be grabbing my car keys and a doller to get a diet coke from McDonalds, and off I go. Also when it is snowing I am especially reminded if Gods love for us. God has been faithful to me in so many ways …. But one of the things that he did for me and my family was to bring my husband to a place of surrender after many years of drinking. After a long hospital stay where he had to be put in a drug induced coma my husband ask God to forgive him and help him and even though the doctors said he might not live through the detox and didn’t give him too much encouragement for a good recovery my husbands life has turned completely around . He loves God and our family:)

    • Wow Wow Wow!!!!! Sherri what an incredible testimony! Thank you Lord for restoration and healing!!! I love hearing testimonies. Sounds like we are sisters at heart for sure when it comes to connect with God through the outdoors 🙂 xoxoxo

  4. Thank you Linda for posting this message. I relate with you dear sister in Christ. I actually read this a couple days ago and got to thinking about where is my sanctuary. I’m a nature girl from within the depths of my soul. I love being in the midst of God’s creation. No matter where that might be, I so admire His handiwork. I got to thinking how Jesus lives in me. He is always with me. Everywhere I go, Jesus is. God has been and is faithful in the most simplest and the grandest ways.

There is so much I can share but for now it’s this: My story is His story. And He isn’t done writing it yet. In my life, God has been steadfastly faithful in using many circumstances and people to get my attention. One of those people is you, Linda. God’s strategic message waiting for me when I opened up your post 2/10/15, set me on a path I needed to head down in my desire seeking to live this gift of life truly surrendered unto God.
One more thing about your ‘secret place’ post here and to express gratitude. As I have pondered the sanctuary idea and that Jesus lives in me, a song from long ago came to my mind waking up this morning. I heard “make me a living sanctuary” playing. In a google search, to my delight I found the song and share it with you. Enjoy! May God continue to provide and establish the work of your hands and your heart given unto Him. Peace be with you.
