What My Coma Can Teach You

I was reminded today on my run of how I felt when I was in a coma. The feeling of being trapped, hot and unable to breathe brought back lots of anxiety.

I thought I was going to have to quit running and just go home. But I stopped myself and thought about it. The feelings of being trapped and anxious are nothing but darkness. That is not light … that is not Jesus. I had to make a choice, believe what the word of God says and speak life to myself or stay in anxiety and fear.

Because of my coma and the anxiety it brings me unexpectedly at different times, I have to be intentional about how I choose to deal with it. The same is true about our goals. How are we going to intentionally deal with the thoughts we have about our goals?

What are you choosing to believe about your goals? Are you choosing to believe the truth about yourself, what you can do and what is possible because of Christ living inside of you? Or are you choosing to believe lies and negativity from the enemy?

  1. When I am going throughout my day, I honestly do not think of my weightloss, I tend to put everything else above my needs. Then I feel like a failure. I need to really focus on what I need to do for me doing that day, make my daily goals so I can keep on track.

    • Mary you sound like you have a servants heart…always thinking about others. Those that get to encounter you daily are truly blessed.

How will you start making a daily goals list? When will you set aside time to focus on you each day?

When I take time to put me first and get filled up with what I truly need I tend to have more to offer others. Its hard to do this because being a women we tend to take care of everyone else first. Love you sweet friend! xoxo

  2. I am choosing to believe that I can succeed at my weight loss goal. I have lost 4 pounds and was able to fit into a shirt that was too tight before I started the journey of losing weight. That is a big accomplishment for me. I AM WORTHY! Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Linda. And, yes, I signed up to be on the Worthy of A Miracle Book Launch Team. 🙂

    • That is AWESOME Melissa that you’ve lost 4 lbs!!! Woohoo!!!!! You go girl!!! You are worth it!!

Thank you so much for signing up for my launch team 🙂 THANK YOU!!!!!! xoxox

  3. I’m Trying really hard to believe God. Sorry about you’re terrible experience this AM. Still plugging along. Thank you.

    • Thank you Christy. I am praying that you gain an extra measure of faith to believe. Sometimes life is hard and we get focused on what is right in front of us and its hard to believe God’s got this. I’m having some struggles today as well. But no matter how I feel this evening I’m choosing to believe past my emotions and trust God. I don’t see how everything is going to work but God has a plan and purpose for my life no matter what.

Thank you for being here sweet friend. ((hugs))

  4. Hi Linda
I usually start my day well but as the day progresses I tend to lose focus on my goal and my faith and dependence on God. At the end of the day I feel guilty and a failure.

  5. Choosing to believe that God has a plan, I am worthy, I am enough and I am HIS. Lately have just been trying to take my negative thoughts captive and make them obedient to Gods word. The enemy will not rule over me! Thanks for constantly inspiring people! <3

    • Kerri I’m standing in agreement with you today. The enemy does not rule over me. Only Jesus. I choose to trust Jesus. I refuse to believe the lies. Thank you for sharing and being here. xo

  6. I am trying to stay focused on the true about me and my capabilities, however, this week has had a few big distractions. I know I have to choose to let them get me off track or let go of them and let God handle it… Linda thanks as always for you inspiration!!!

    • Ayesha I want to encourage you to keep on girl. You are honest with yourself and identifying when you get off track. That’s half the battle right there. You are doing great. I believe in you.

You are strong & courageous & God lives inside of you. Stay strong. xoxo

  7. I am thankful that I am beginning to see the real me through His eyes and through the eyes of others and I am embracing the gift of encouragement that I Believe He has given me and I Believe I can become a Christian life coach !
I am Learning to embrace the real me that others see and even more, embrace who I am in Gods eyes
When i realize I am enough and embrace who He made me to be, I can allow others to be who they were created to be. I challenge others today to embrace who you are in Christ and share your best you with others. In return, allow others to be the best they were created to be and they will know they are enough too! We are enough in God s eyes. See yourself through Him.

Dear Lord, I pray today that we will all see ourselves through Your eyes not for who we are, but for who we are through You. Thank You for the reminders that we are enough and that we were created in Your image and blessed with gifts to share with others. Thank You Jesus for Your unfailing love that continues to amaze me. It’s in Your precious and holy name I pray Amen.

    • Amen! Amen! Amen! Kelly I needed to read that prayer right now. A great reminder to look at myself the way He sees me.

  8. I have a question..any/everybody feel free to respond. When you are doing something that causes you anxiety how do you deal with it?? I am feeling anxiety about my running class. Not sure why, it is several days away. Help please…

    • Ayesha,
I have clinical anxiety and PTSD and the only way I overcome my anxiety is having God’s word wash over me. I use the YouVersion Bible APP which has a feature that plays God’s word and I just close my eyes and let the Psalm play through until I am free in the moment of the crippling anxiety.
