Creating {Self-Love}

lorraine santana2

Over the past few weeks I’ve been on a bit of a quest to sincerely love myself.

This might sound like a no brainer to you, but I recently became shockingly aware that I could not give away what I don’t already have!

It broke my heart to face this reality.

After this eye-opening truth I said ENOUGH!

I will not continue to live a half-hearted life. And that is what led me to learning and creating self-love.

On my Inspirational Coaching Minute Vlog this week I asked what do you love to do so much that you lose track of time? For me, one of the things I love to do is create! Something about creating, painting, drawing brings my inner-self out and I become fully alive. I love myself in those moments and that is why I plan to make time to create more consistently.

This week I want to challenge you to take time do what you love doing and then take notice of how you feel about yourself.

I want to hear from you! What things would you do if you had endless amounts of time? Or what have you done this week to embrace self-love? Leave a comment below.

*Next Tuesday I will be doing a GIVE-AWAY on my blog!!!

  1. Hello, Linda, One thing I would do if I had endless amounts of time is to send a card to everyone I know. 🙂 I know how I feel when going to the mailbox and finding a note or card from someone. That small kindness lets me know that someone thought of me that day. Some people, especially those in nursing homes or who live alone really look forward to the mail in their mailbox. A small act of kindness can really brighten someone’s life. Thanks again for your blog. Your blog is the first one I look for every week. 🙂 God Bless You.

    • I love that idea Melissa! As I was reading your comment I cannot help myself but now go and visit some sweet elderly people at a nursing home. That’s not something I ever do, but I am going to make time throughout the holidays to go give some love and hugs. Thank you!!! And thank you for “hopping” over to my blog on Thursdays! I love having you here! ((hugs))

  2. Linda your post are always uplifting and mind thinking! I do think we put what WE love on the back burners. Thanks for sharing we need our SELF LOVE to be happy and fully do what God has planned for us and to use our gifts he set for us individually! Thanks for sharing sweet sister~ Cindy OBS Small Group Leader

  3. I lose track of time when I am outside gardening, planting, mowing. I feel connected to God and His creation while I am working on these outdoor things. When I am done, I feel like I have accomplished something and feel satisfied with the results and the feeling of energy well spent. It is funny, I would never have the same feeling after cleaning the house!

  4. Losing track of time……Fly fishing #1. When I stand in a river flicking a fly across the water to gently lay a fly so far away, time flows like the river itself and I do not sense it. Reality slips downstream like a leaf on the waters surface. It is surreal at times. Then suddenly you hear the water. Not the usual sound, but the symphony it creates as it twists and swirls back around, or when it rushes over a rock. Its as if its the only sound present. Then there’s the smell. Water, flora, fauna its everywhere and all so different. Then the gentle nudge of God speaks and you look up, which when casting you really don’t want to do and you spy a bald eagle watching you. He gracefully dives from the tree and swoops upriver to perch in another tree. Hearing the sound of his wings and feeling the rush of pure joy at such a gorgeous creation. Realizing your line is almost spooled and running downstream and heave a big sigh at knowing that was such a rare moment in time and as I sit here now looking back on those days of searching……God was really all around me, as he is now……..that’s just one of the ways I numb myself from reality if not just for and cleanse my mind and soul. It truly is my spiritual Mikvah.

Thank you Linda for letting me re-live and share that moment.

  5. Linda, I made it home earlier than usual tonight! Made myself a dreamy cup of hot cocoa! Sat and read some email blog posts and commented! Now I am going to love myself right into some jammies and spend some quiet time with the One who loves me even more than I can love myself!
Ps. Also spent some fun time with my boys (grandsons) this week! Feeling quite blessed!

    • I love what you said!! “Now I am going to love myself right into some jammies and spend some quiet time with the One who loves me even more than I can love myself!” I’m in my soft pink fuzzy pj’s too!! I love warm cozy jammies on a cold night! Feels like a big ((hug))!

  6. I LOVE making cards! All kinds, especially just a HELLO card and gardening. My husband and I have been in transition of a move for over two years and I haven’t been able to create ANYTHING or plant a garden since all of our stuff is in storage. It really bothers me at times, but I just try to look to the future and know that I’ll be doing it again soon. We will be moving from Floriday to Tennessee in June so hopefully by July, I’ll be able to start creating again since it will be too late to plant a garden!

  7. For my self love I have been reading.I love to read. Not just anything but love reading Christain books and my Bible.

  8. My greatest joy and happiness is when I’m doing crafts or crocheting a baby blanket or afghan to give to someone. The time just flies by and you forget about yourself. It’s a random act of kindness where you give to someone and don’t expect anything in return but your blessed 10 fold. I never keep what I make. I also like Christmas. I like sending Christmas cards best and letting someone know your thinking of them. My mom never sends a card to anyone until she gets one from them first but I think that takes the joy away from card giving. I would love to give everyone a gift but since that’s out of the question giving a card is giving part of yourself. I think that’s why I like Christmas best. More people forget about themselves and think of others. Hallmark has wonderful Christmas movies that you can sit down and watch by yourself or make memories with your family. Another joy. Thanks Linda.
