So Much To Share! Retreats, Healthy Lifestyle Coaching & Love

Over the last year I took time to simply relax and receive. I realized through this restorative season in my life I accomplished so much more with much less striving. There’s something supernatural that happens when we earnestly seek the Lord with our whole heart, it opens up the door to fully rest and embrace our life. Through my incredible discoveries in 2016 I’m excited to share this freedom with you and how to accomplish it!

This year on my blog I will be diving deeper into prayer, spiritual, physical & emotional health along with my favorite Healthy Lifestyle shortcuts which include food, exercise & organization. My one word this year is CONSISTENCY. I’ve learned when I filter the day through the goal of consistency, life runs so much smoother, and I truly feel at peace. I achieve more than I ever dreamed possible and so can you.

First: I would love for you to kick off your year and join me at this exquisite once in a lifetime spiritual retreat. Come and RELAX …. REJUVENATERENEW with me this winter at the luxurious Miracle Retreat!

Second: If you’re unable to make the retreat and you are ready to make this year be Your Year of Consistency with health, food, exercise, relationships or career sign up for my newly release Healthy Lifestyle Coaching package.

Third: Last but not least, sweet friend, please take a moment to read this out loud, from my heart to yours. “This is a new year! I am expectant and excited for all God has in store for me. Thank you Lord for the plans you have for me to prosper in 2017. I will not look at the past and feel depressed and I will not look into the future and be anxious. I choose to live right here, right now with You in this very present moment full of gratitude. Thank you for all the fun, laughter, joy and light you will live through my life this year sweet Jesus.”

I love you friend. I’m sending you a virtual ((hug)) on this cold January day. I look forward to our year of growth together and lots of love! Please be sure to stay connected with me Facebook or Instagram.

3 Questions to Ask at Your Christmas Dinner

As 2016 is winding down I encourage you to take a little time and reflect. While I know this year has not been “perfect” and there are some things you might want to permanently erase from your mind, I do believe without question that we can find much to be grateful for and celebrate. Here are 3 questions I’m pondering myself and asking my family as 2016 fades into 2017.

2017

For me this year has been a time of rest, renewal, healing and growth. I can honestly say 2016 has been one of my favorite years yet. Not because everything worked out the way I wanted it to, but mainly because I simply gave up striving and just let myself be. I found this year I took time to live with intention and enjoy the sweet simple moments with my loved ones. It was time well spent and I will carry that into next year.

I would love to hear from you in the comments below about what you learned from 2016.

The Embarrassing Truth About Writing a Book

woam2

Stressing out about writing a book is NEVER worth it.

I’m embarrassed to admit that I acted like a crazy person for the year and a half of my life while putting this book on paper. It was like the world was coming to an end.

It was all about me!

What are people going to think?

Am I good enough to do this?

Me, an author? Like titles are all that important at the end of the day.

Insecurity relentlessly taunted me day and night.

Looking back I was self-absorbed. My face is flushed while admitting this to you.

After it was all said and done (or wrote) I held the book in my hands and the only thing that truly mattered was God’s grace.

Yes, God’s grace that saved my life. God’s mercy that kept me here a little longer on earth to hopefully share Jesus’ love with a hurting world.

Memories of my life raced through my mind and tears leaked out the corners of my eyes the moment I held my book Worthy of a Miracle for the first time.

Thank you Jesus. Thank you. I prayed.

That’s all that ever really mattered or still matters … Jesus.

A small piece of my life was written on those pages to share that our God is real and our God is always here with us.

I’ve taken some time off from my blog. I’m not sure where I’m headed. The only place I want to be is in continuous fellowship with God worshiping Him. That is my life’s priority.

Being 100% authentic is at the core of who God created me to be and at any time I feel the tug to live for the world, I retreat. I hop off social media and you’ll see limited post from me.

While the world tells me in order to keep a steady following I must post consistently, my heart longs to stay in alignment with the Holy Spirit.

If your reading this today I want to say thank you for supporting me here and believing in me. You inspire me to keep it real and to simply be me. I hope when you see my emails come through you’ll continue to take a peak and see what God’s up to. Thank you for understanding the ebbs and flows of my inconsistent post.

For anyone out there that is working hard to achieve your goals I want to encourage you to take time to connect with God consistently throughout your day. Make sure He is your number #1 focus and not the goal you are working towards. If your life feels out of balance I highly recommend finding a Christian coach or mentor.

Dear Lord I pray for each reader here to connect with you deeper in this very moment. May we take time to talk with you and seek you first throughout our day. Make us sensitive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit inside of us. We love you Lord. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

A Very Big Miracle

Chapter 15, Speak Truth is one of my very favorite chapters in my book because of the VERY BIG MIRACLE that happened in my life through the act of speaking truth in my life. I cannot wait for you to read about this miracle in my book!

(Excerpt Worthy of a Miracle pg. 195-196)
“Going through cancer and the coma, I learned the power of my thoughts and words. When I woke up in the hospital and could not speak, my thoughts quickly turned from defeat to determination. Backed by the power of the prayers of my family and friends, I
insisted that I was going to breathe on my own, get out of the bed, and walk again. I believed that God had not brought me this far to quit. No one was going to stop me. My thoughts became my words, which became my reality.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Rom. 12:2)

This was the Scripture I clung to while undergoing chemotherapy. Little did I know how it would impact the rest of my healing. Words are powerful. All of creation came to be simply through the power of God’s word. “And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was
light” (Gen. 1:3). God’s word spoke creation into existence.

Our words are like the air we breathe. Our words give us life. It’s time to believe in the power of our words and the positive impact they can have on us. Speaking the truth out loud has changed my life, my faith, and my relationships with my family and friends. It has helped me let go of all the times in my childhood when I had no voice and learned to think my only real value was in how I looked or how I performed. Now I know that when I speak, Jesus is listening, even if no one else hears. I know this because of my personal relationship with him. Today, I know that when we speak God’s word, we have supernatural power and authority through Christ. And when we speak God’s words to ourselves, we do a better job of encouraging and uplifting with positive self-talk as we face life’s challenges.”

Today I want to encourage you to examine the words you are speaking to others and to yourself. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve had any experience with speaking God’s word out loud and what it has done for you.

Can we really Expect Miracles?

Do I have to keep training? The marathon is just around the corner, it is soooo close. But some days it’s hard to keep on keeping on. Every day I have to make an intentional decision: train or slack off.

Today I chose to persevere and stay strong.

Tuesday I talked with you about Expect Miracles from the JESUS acronym in my book: Just Live Today, Expect Miracles, Speak Truth, Use Your Gifts, Start Now!

When we think about Expecting Miracles, it really goes back to our mindset. For example, when you wake up each day do you automatically think how can I get through the day and try to find something to be positive about or do you wake up with an expectant mindset … expecting to notice the miracles in your life?

What would it be like if you went through an entire 24 hours expecting miracles all around you?

Let’s take a minute and look around at the miracles right now in front of us. It is a miracle we are alive and breathing! It is a miracle that it is raining! It is a miracle that we have a beautiful world that surrounds us!

When will we shift our perspective from just getting through the day to looking at life expectantly? I know from personal experience that when I live life expectantly my day turns out completely different, full of hope … full of excitement … full of miracles!

Leave a comment and let me know what miracles are you expecting in your life?

I know that six years ago today I was asleep in a coma and my family and friends were believing and expecting God for a miracle. And through their faith and prayers God delivered a miracle! What miracle are you expecting from God today?

When You Are Struggling

I feel like I want to quit so bad this week! Do you ever feel this way?

After running my longest run of the season I’ve been struggling with my mindset. It is totally crazy because I actually did very well on my 8 mile run.

For some reason I’m wrestling with a negative mindset and keep questioning myself … Can I really do this? Am I really strong enough?

And then I go to a long list of “what ifs” …. What if I get an injury? What if I don’t finish the half marathon?

Have you ever done this? Worrying about the future and not living in the present moment?

Earlier this week I shared with you about Chapter 13 in my book Just Live Today. Honestly some days I can live in the moment and embrace what’s right here in front of me and then there are other days, like today, when I struggle feeling overwhelmed, stressed out and insecure about all kinds of things worrying about the future.

As much as I would like to tell you I’ve got it all figured out and I Just Live Today perfectly that simply is not true. Life is a balancing act. When you think about balancing, it does not mean that you are perfectly steady but that you are still slightly juggling things to keep the balance. I like to tell my clients, “Life is about progress, not perfection”.

Leave me a comment and let me know if you are struggling to Just Live Today and live in the moment? If not tell me what you are doing to stay live in the present.

Bad Habits to New Habits

I’m inviting you to pray this today: “Search the inner depths of my heart and expose anything that is not of You so I can be set free of it.” Excerpt from Stormie Omartian’s book The Power of Prayer to Change Your Marriage.

What do you need to be set free from?

In my quiet time I was reading Psalm 5:11-12 and part of it reads “Let those who love Your name be joyful and exult in You.” All of a sudden my eyes were opened to a “bad” habit I have. I have a habit of not being joyful, instead I have a habit of anxious thoughts and worrying.

I’ve decided I want to create a new habit of gratitude, thankful and joy filled thoughts to replace my bad habit of anxious and worried thoughts.

Let me know what “bad” habit you have and what new habit you can replace it with?

*I will be announcing giveaway WINNER next Tuesday, be sure to leave a comment to be entered to win The Mended Heart by Suzanne Eller.

                                         ~Praise for Worthy of a Miracle~

Linda Kuhar extends an invitation to find an extraordinary God at work in the middle of our ordinary lives. She offers faith, encouragement and, most of all, hope. Whether you’re going through a difficult time or are simply looking for inspiration and a new perspective, Worthy of a Miracle will meet you where you are and help you see what could be. – Holley Gerth, Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author of You’re Already Amazing

I knew Linda’s story would be inspiring, but had no idea how much her book would touch my heart as a woman, a wife, a parent and a believer. Seeing how God orchestrated small and life changing miracles in her life literally moved me to tears as I witnessed the tangible proof of the power of God at work. Her story is a beautiful reminder of God’s sovereignty, packed with scriptural promises and practical steps for growing our relationship with God, while reminding us all that we are worthy of His miracles too. – Tracie Miles, Christian Speaker & Writer, and Author of two best-selling books, Your Life Still Counts: How God Turns Your Past Into A Beautiful Future and Stressed-Less Living: Finding God’s Peace In Your Chaotic World.

War Room

Have you seen War Room? Confession: I went twice this weekend!

This movie literally has changed my life. If you have not seen the movie, please go see it.

Will you take the challenge with me to step up and be more disciplined in your prayer life? I know when I sincerely meet with God, I leave a changed woman every single time. I’m not saying it will be easy, but I promise it is worth it.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:11

While discipline is so important for us to achieve our goals, it is even more important in our time with God. Our prayer lives must be top priority.

Let me know how disciplined you are in your prayer life or do you need to step it up with me? How might that impact the goals you are trying to achieve? Everyone who comments will be entered to WIN The Mended Heart by Suzanne Eller.

Just a Little Push {& Winner}

Who is pushing or challenging you just a little bit to take it up a notch so that you are accomplishing your goals?

Are you slacking off or are you stretching yourself just enough for success?

For me to really push myself enough to make a difference in my training, I meet with my friend Stephanie to run with from time to time. She is much stronger and faster than I am so it’s challenging for me to keep up with her. But in the end it is so worth it to keep me moving forward in my goal … to run 13.1 miles at the Savannah Rock-n-Roll Marathon on Nov. 8. only 2 days before Worthy of a Miracle book release! (I cannot believe it’s already on Amazon. Check it out here)

My friend Stephanie not only challenges me, but she always speaks truth to me by encouraging me and building me up. Stephanie often times believes in me more than I believe in myself. I like to say everyone needs a “Stephanie” in their life.

Leave me a comment and let me know how you are pushing yourself or how you’ll begin to step it up a notch so that you can accomplish your goals.

Worthy

Let’s speak this affirmation together … I AM WORTHY! You are worthy my friend to accomplish your dreams and goals. You are not alone, we are in this together!
